WHO WE ARE

Serbian-Canadian Professionals in Law (SPIL) was founded in Toronto, Ontario in 2021. SPIL is an organization that connects law students, lawyers and other legal professionals of Serbian heritage. We have three major goals as an organization.

Networking and Professional Development

SPIL connects law students, lawyers and other legal professionals of Serbian heritage with the aim of nurturing meaningful relationships and building a cohesive Serbian-Canadian legal community. To this end, our aims and activities include:

• Creating and maintaining a comprehensive directory of Serbian-Canadian legal professionals
• Generating referrals and other business for members of SPIL
• Hosting networking events, CPD seminars, legal panels and other events

Community Engagement

SPIL seeks to develop and promote the interests of the Serbian-Canadian legal community by providing mentorship to Serbian-Canadian law students throughout their studies and providing career development resources for articling students, law clerks, paralegals and other recent entries into the legal profession.

Philanthropy

SPIL will organize and participate in philanthropic events and other work dedicated to helping Serbs in need around the world.
